Privacy Policy — FieldTrack Attendance

Last updated: 16 October 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the Android app FieldTrack Attendance (package name com.krish.attendancetracker), published on Google Play by Krishp (the developer). Contact: krishappdeveloper0@gmail.com.

FieldTrack Attendance is a workforce attendance and location-tracking tool. A business ("the employer") signs up as an administrator and invites its employees to the app. The employer decides which employees use the app and who can view their data. We provide the app and the backend service on the employer's behalf.

Information We Collect

DataWhoWhen / why
Name, phone number, roleEmployeesEntered at registration with a business invite code. Used to identify the employee to their employer.
Name, email address, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider) or Google account emailAdministratorsUsed to create and sign in to the administrator account.
Precise location (GPS), including while the app is in the background or closedEmployeesRecorded periodically only while the employee has an active work session that they started themselves, and stopped when they end it (or automatically after 12 hours). Used to show the employer the employee's route and last known position during that session. Never collected outside an active session.
Photographs (selfies)EmployeesTaken with the device camera only at the start and end of a work session, to confirm the identity of the person clocking in and out.
Device push-notification tokenEmployees and administratorsUsed to deliver alerts, for example telling administrators that an employee turned location off.
Session records (start/end time, whether a session was auto-stopped)EmployeesUsed for attendance reporting.

We do not collect contacts, messages, files, advertising IDs, or health or financial information.

Background Location and Foreground Service

While a work session is active, the app runs a foreground service of type "location" so that location can be recorded when the screen is off or the app is closed. Android shows a persistent notification ("Tracking Active") for as long as this runs. Tracking stops when the employee taps stop and takes the end-of-session selfie, or automatically after 12 hours. Before any location permission is requested, the app shows an in-app disclosure explaining this.

How We Use This Information

Solely to verify employee attendance, work location and route during active work sessions, to let the employer's designated administrators review this information, and to operate and secure the service. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any unrelated purpose.

Who Can See the Data

Only authenticated administrators of the same business can view that business's employee data. Employees' data is not visible to other businesses.

Data Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell personal data and do not share it for advertising. We use the following service providers, who process data only to provide their service to us:

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We may disclose information if required by law.

Data Retention and Deletion

Employee Consent and Control

Location tracking and selfie capture start only when the employee starts a work session and can be stopped by the employee at any time. The employee can also revoke location and camera permission in Android settings, in which case tracking will not run.

Security

Access to data is restricted by account-based access rules so that administrators can reach only their own business's data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

The app is intended for working adults and is not directed to children under 18.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy we will update the date above. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email to administrators.
